• Manages the Community Development Programme, which provides financial assistance towards community/area development organisations through National Lottery funding
• Funds training and education initiatives in disadvantaged areas

Cork City Council

• Grants are given each year to community groups throughout the city
• The formation of Community Associations is encouraged by the committee
• Capital assistance is provided for buildings for Community Associations

Cork County Tourism Committee/Cork Kerry Tourism:

• Advice and assistance to those seeking Grant Aid under the schemes of 'Operational Programme for Tourism Development & Marketing Schemes' and the 'Agri Tourism Grant Scheme'

Department of Social & Family Affairs: A. Voluntary and Community Services:

• Scheme of Grants to Locally Based Community and Family Support Groups: Funding for groups involved in programmes of self-help and personal development
• Scheme of Grants to Voluntary Organisations: Funding available towards once off cost of equipment, premises and other items
• Community Development Education and Training Grants: Funding for training and education initiatives aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of local community and voluntary groups

Qualifying groups include:
1. Family support and community development groups
2. Women's and Men's groups
3. Welfare rights and information groups
4. Lone parents support and self-help groups
5. Traveller groups
6. Co-ordinating organisations whose members or affiliated groups support eligible locally based groups

B. The Family Affairs Unit:

Grants are available for:
1. Marriage Counselling Services
2. Marriage Preparation Course
3. Child Counselling Services (in relation to Parental Separation)
4. Bereavement Counselling/Support Services

Ireland Funds:

• Supports projects that promote peace, culture, community and education
• Dedicated to helping the people of Ireland to help themselves
• 'Seed' grant from the funds provides the leverage necessary to qualify for additional monies from government agencies and other organisations
• Grants directed towards tackling unemployment, inner-city deprivation and
  rural de-population
• Ireland's culture, heritage and artistic life are also supported

Katharine Howard Foundation:

• Supports the formation and development of community groups in disadvantaged areas through the provision and distribution of grants
• Facilitate recently formed groups and assist in the development of new or additional activities in existing groups
• Grants will not be made to projects that are already largely funded by statutory bodies

• European Union Commission initiative, local development bodies have been appointed to administer the funds for the Cork region
• Supports enterprise creation within the private and community sectors
• Facilitates community groups to play a leading role in local development

Southern Health Board - Community Work Department:

• Community Workers provide information on Grant Aid, Section 65 grants and National Lottery funding administered by the Southern Health Board for community / voluntary groups
• Assist groups to fill in application forms for such grants
